drive wheelchair to break drink-driving laws

A 64-year-old man asleep in his wheelchair was found in in a turning lane on the Captain Cook Highway at Stratford north of Cairns on Friday morning.
The police test his alcohol smell. But his result is six times the legal limit.
The drunk man said that he was on the way to his old friend.
The man broke the drink-driving laws which cover these kinds of vehicles, but also others like horses and bicycles.
He will be sentenced for drunk driving in Cairns Magistrates Court on July 7.
